THREE TIPS FOR A HEALTHY DIET
It’s true that a good day starts with a good breakfast, but it’s equally true that a proper diet starts in the supermarket trolley, and a smart shop is easier if you follow our advice: you can improve your diet without giving up anything.
1) Buy “health-friendly” ready meals. If you don’t have much time to cook, stock up on foods that are both practical and rich in fibre and/or nutrients: frozen vegetables, pre-cooked cereals (barley, farro, wholemeal pasta and rice, quinoa…), fish and pulses… even in a tin.
2) Choose products inspired by the Mediterranean diet. At the supermarket, take time to explore the fruit and veg aisle: the Mediterranean diet is based on cereals, fruit and vegetables. Eat dairy products and nuts every day, and alternate fish, eggs, pulses, white and red meat.
3) Say goodbye to saying no. The top reason diets fail is because they’re too restrictive. So don’t be too hard on yourself. And if you fancy a slice of cake now and then (one slice, not three!), you can always make an exception!
